Krav Maga, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kali / Silat, BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) all emphasize tactics and methods. There should be no difference in how you approach what you are fueling your body with. Proper nutrition is up to you. If it is done correctly your overall game (game of life…yeah, I said it) will improve. Who doesn’t want to look better and feel better? Satisfaction being the end of desire rings truer to the martial artist than most. By keeping your nutrition in a constant state of improvement, there will be no limit as to how successful you can be on the mat.
Daily we are told to eat certain things. Rarely do we adhere to what is in reality, a healthy choice. Everyone gets stuck in a routine. For most Americans, breakfast is skipped and at best something fast is consumed and most likely not the best thing for our bodies. Like anything we do, it is important to plan. Not only does a tactical mindset have to do with combat, but in our everyday lives.
If we plan ahead and use a clear head (consciousness man, it is so righteous) the results in our overall performance on the mat and in our professional lives will garner fantastic results. This is in no way a preaching session about what to eat. As we are all different in our martial arts skill set, our bodies are different and we require different types of food. The important thing is to use your head!
