Elite Training Center currently has students in Thailand at Tiger Muay Thai.
I wanted to share this photo specifically because Muay Boran was trained in it. Understanding the history of every martial art you train in is important. It shows respect for the art and those who tested it not only in practice but also in combat.
Muay Boran is a much bigger system consisting of 9 limbs, head butts.
Where as Muay Thai is often viewed as the sport version practiced today by purists, MMA fighters and in Elite‘s case, Krav Maga practitioners there is much more than what we see today.
Learn a little bit about the arts you train in.
I encourage everyone that trains to learn a little bit about the arts you train. Perhaps it will lead to learning a lot about it. I’m not referring to the politics (although it certainly has its place), but learning about what you train in can help answer deeper questions as to why you train. Respect for every martial art should be shown. Start by learning its history and your own experience can be that much richer.
