There is an awesome adventure planned for members of Elite Training Center to venture into SE Asia and train where it all started! Muay Thai in Thailand!!!
Last year, the instructors of ETC took advantage of an offer to travel to Thailand and train Muay Thai in Thailand at Tiger Muay Thai. As many of you know, Muay Thai is the cornerstone to the various arts Elite offers at our Redondo Beach location (MMA, Krav Maga to name a few). Having such an opportunity made me appreciate what we do so much more. Being able to immerse oneself in the culture who’s identity is made of a combative system is priceless.
I don’t like humidity. In fact, I hate it. However, being able to train in extreme, humid temperatures didn’t deter us in the least and made our training more challenging, yet more rewarding.
Although I don’t see myself going back to Thailand anytime soon, I wouldn’t trade my experience of Thai Boxing Muay Thai in Thailand for anything. I was able to share something that means a lot to each of us with most of my closest friends (plus I was able to visit China–KFC anyone?)…
If you can make the journey, go! If you can’t, there will be more opportunities. Keep on training regardless. We aren’t going anywhere, but up and will be giving you any new, cutting edge information we learn. As martial artists, we share what we learn.
