Be Responsible and Make Changes

Martial Arts

Today like any other day we all woke up and went through our normal routine. Did you do something out of the ordinary? Did you have a different result? When we change we must expect different outcomes, not just a positive one. Therefore we must stand by our actions and adapt to get the best positive result.

Krav Maga, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kali / Silat, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Mixed Martial Arts  (MMA) all adapt from techniques and counters. Great things can come out of change. The adage of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…” does not apply. Why not change something if it could be better? Laziness and complacency hold no weight in martial arts. Routines lead to boredom and with boredom comes little movement.

In recent years, we’ve seen the martial arts take on a whole new meaning with the popularity of MMA via the UFC marketing giant. If these techniques can be taught to anyone, who is responsible for those who want to train for nefarious reasons? It is the instructor or institution who must take upon themselves to decide who trains and who doesn’t.

We must all become more responsible and not ignore or pass something or someone off when confronted with an uneasy situation. Stand for something bigger. Make a change and help someone who needs helping.
