Below is a press release that didn’t receive much press. The person who sent this to me actually said it most likely wasn’t released due to the fact that people in the South Bay don’t want their property values to go down. I’m sure that’s not the case.
Anyway, look alive everyone! There is trouble around and it is becoming more and more frequent. Lock your doors, be aware and stay vigilant. I would love for the South Bay to become the place where the criminals and scum of the city tell their friends to avoid when thinking about home invasions, robberies, muggings, etc. I know that’s not realistic. All we can do is encourage one another to keep their eyes open!
Enjoy…
On June 28th 2015, just after midnight, a local Hermosa Beach resident was walking in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and 19th Street when he observed two male black adults running across the roadway. The resident then observed a white Dodge Magnum with a male black adult driver parked on 19th Street; the vehicle left the area as the resident approached. The resident was then confronted by the two subjects he had observed running across the street. One of the subjects pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at his head and told him, “Give me your wallet!”. The subjects then stole the victim’s wallet and cash and fled on foot north on PCH. The victim added that the suspects got into the white Dodge Magnum he had seen earlier and the vehicle fled north on PCH.
A short time later, HBPD Officers and the victim responded to the city of El Segundo after Officers located a similar vehicle. Officers located the victim’s wallet and identification inside the suspect’s vehicle and a loaded 9mm handgun with high capacity magazines.
The Hermosa Beach Police Department is encouraging anyone with additional information to contact Detective JR Smith at (310) 318-0351 jsmith@hermosapolice.org.
Don’t think to yourself, “they got em’.” It’s far from over. There could be more around. If it’s happened in Hermosa Beach and they were found in El Segundo there is no telling who will strike next and where. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION EVERYONE! Self-defense is not something to have hindsight about.
