Krav Maga in Redondo Beach

I usually take a few days to think about the tests and promotions that we have at Elite Training Center. As instructors we are often surprised by the output of energy by participants testing and those who support. Honestly, it is inspiring!

To see so many men and woman training and becoming visibly proficient in self defense is extraordinary. Those who took part ranged in ages 13 to 55 years old! Awesome? Yes! Inspirational? Absolutely!

Too often we take for granted our health. Everyone does so. It isn’t until something tragic occurs that we become introspective and realize that life is short. It usually happens when it is someone close to us. As instructors we are reminded about it everyday.

Dealing with someone who is coping with an illness themselves or someone else is a challenge for everyone. We do it however and it makes us all realize how fortunate we are to do what we do. Not because we are allowed to exercise, train and teach, but because we can.

No one wants to be sick. No one wants to be weak. Take every opportunity you have to train. It is never too early to start nor too late to begin. We don’t care what discipline you are training in.Krav Maga, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kali Silat, BJJ or MMA, as long as it is something.

When we talk to prospective students our dialogue is often focused on the importance of training. Of course we want people to train at Elite Training Center. If they don’t at least they are doing something to prepare for an altercation.

Martial arts serve so many varied purposes on so many different levels. It is never solely about fighting. It is about finding the will to persevere. It is about overcoming obstacles whatever they might be.

13 years old or 55 years old, we must push from our starting point. Be the example for those you care about. It is our duty to lead the charge against mediocrity, laziness, sickness and weakness. If we don’t, who will?
