Kill them with kindness
Kill them with kindness
As a martial artist, I believe everyone deserves respect. It is important to show respect to everyone you interact with; especially the people who you know dislike you. Being able to show that them disliking you doesn’t affect how you view them showcases a lot about ones character and how ones is viewed as a martial artist.
When I first started training at Elite Training Center (my instructor) Colleen and I had a talk about how I was having problems in school with another student. This other person at my school would attempt to do things that they knew I disliked, so I asked Colleen how would I deal with that ? She said, “kill them with kindness.” Kill them with kindness? How does that even make sense ? If the person already disliked me why would I want to be nice to them ? Colleen explained to me that being a martial artist doesn’t mean you just do martial arts. Being a martial artist means you have to act the way you do on the mat the same as off the mat. Showing respect to every individual you interact plays a big role in becoming a martial artist.
Elite Training Center has taught me to not only become a better martial artist technique wise, but it also helped me become a better person on and off the mat.
