Cross Training
Everyone in martial arts will find a style that fits their preference. We all have that one favorite system that we love to practice. Although we all have a discipline that we may favor, it’s always prudent to keep in mind the importance of cross training different arts. As a school, Elite is structured to allow us the opportunity to sharpen all the tools in our skill set to become complete. If you’ve never tried Kickboxing, take a look at how much striking there is in self-defense and in the cage/ring.
If you practice Muay Thai, don’t think that you can always control whether or not you slip and fall on the ground and before you know it, you’re grappling! On top of that we have no way of telling whether or not someone may be carrying a weapon. It’s best to think of martial arts as whole, and that it is your job to find the pieces and put it together. Once you open your mind, you will see your understanding and connection to martial arts evolve. Remember, everyone has something to teach you. It doesn’t matter what discipline they practice or what level they are!
