Rest Peacefully or in Pieces

Krav Maga, MMA, kickboxing / muay thai, kali / silat, all require countless hours of training in order to become proficient. As mentioned in a previous post, we must remain hydrated, eat right and train smart. What about rest, the bane of so many martial artists and top tier athletes. How are we supposed to rest when all we here about is the importance of spending time on the mat? How do I make martial arts lifestyle if I am supposed to rest?

We must practice with consciousness. Training is also working from a cerebral position. Our bodies are made to work, to move and to do so in functional ways. However, our bodies aren’t designed to continually work and train and never rest.

If we compare ourselves to cars, real cars not hybrids or electric cars, upkeep and rest of the engine is what sustains your vehicle and gives it longevity. Your body is no different.
