Big News: MMA Champion Leads Elite Training Center Program

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Elite is pleased to announce the enhancement ot its mixed martial arts (MMA) program.

“MMA is becoming the sport of the 21st century. When taught correctly MMA also provides self defense skills and confidence as well. We wanted wanted to ensure we offered the best MMA program for both adult and youth MMA students. Vladdy (Vladimir Matyushenko) is uniquely qualified to provide that MMA leadership to Elite Training Center students.” According to Brian Rauchbach President and Head Instructor.

Vladimir Matyushenko Bio

vladdyImagine a sweeping marsh-ridden flatland expanding as far as the eye can see. Green forests trim the horizon and cool, deep lakes interrupt tall grazing grasses. This is a Belarusian summer, and on a modest farm tucked away from his country’s cultural struggles, a boy reads a book. The pages tell of far-off places and traveled peoples around the globe, and the boy knows; one day he’ll walk those lands.

Vladimir Matyushenko grew up in the Belarus of 1971, a country that took nearly 30 years to recover from the effects of World War II. Just as it regained its feet, the USSR’s Communist Party leader Leonid Breschev reintroduced Stalin’s Sovietization programs. Thus, as Belarus began a new battle to preserve its language and culture, Vladimir buried himself in books and sports.

Parent Testimonial “The Best Children’s Martial Arts Program in the Region”

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Thanks to Ben Morse for his email testimonial regarding Elite’s youth program.  It is repeated here with Ben’s permission:

Hi,

My name is Ben Morse.  Some of you know me, some of you have children at Elite as I do.  If you are getting this email, your family like mine, is part of what cannot be questioned as the best children’s martial arts program in the region.  Our children are learning Stranger Awareness, they are learning how to defend themselves from adult attackers, what to do if they come across deadly weapons, how to defend themselves from bullies, multiple attackers, how to fight standing up and on the ground.  They are learning this from some amazing, egoless instructors who are dedicated heart and soul to educating and preparing your children with crucial life skills.  These skills will help save their lives, their dignity and their self images as strong, capable people who are not scared of this world.  This is what Elite Training Center does.  And they make it fun.

Elite does not hand out Black Belts to children to placate a parental need which ends up giving a false sense of security and accomplishment.  These little kids that do get Black Belts at a very early age, are they really Masters?  They think they are, their parents and friends tell them they are, they stop training, they fill that time spot with a different sport, but how much really sticks after the training stops?  Do you REALLY think they would stack up to Elite’s students even in the Beginner class?  Now how do you think they are prepared compared to the average child student in the Advanced class, who still has a long way to go before matriculating into the Youth MMA classes, which flow into the Adult classes?  Which school and concept will serve them better?  Which philosophy actually gets the results you are paying for?  Do you want to make them feel they can easily master something and move on, quickly losing skills that were questionable to begin with, or a LIFE long commitment to learning, achieving, staying fit and staying safe?

I have two boys at Elite, Henry in the Advanced class and Jack in the Beginner class.  Like many of you, I was concerned when there was one class, that it was too crowded and that it needed to be split up. I was very happy when this change occurred, even though now I have kids in each class.  The reason the class was split was so that the class sizes would be smaller.  Once the class split, I felt even better about telling friends, may of you who are now part of Elite, about this AMAZING program my kids are in, without the risk of lowering the attention on my kids…

Mon and Wed 4pm for Beginners and 5 for Advanced. Tuesday right now is all levels at 4… First week is free.  After that, its the best deal in town AND the best program.   I am happy to answer any questions:  310-293-7497 or the number at Elite, 310-543-1600.  And look at this link:

Thank You, Ben Morse

S.M.A.R.T goal setting

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

         S.M.A.R.T. GOAL SETTING

S.M.A.R.T. Goal-setting is a well known and widely used acronym for setting and getting goals in your life…

 Specific  Measurable  Attainable  Realistic  Time-Dated

Most people avoid setting goals simply because they have never learned how to do it right… others have a fear of failure… some people just procrastinate and never take much action toward a better future.

In the martial arts, we learn very early about the value of goal setting. A simple starting point is to apply the S.M.A.R.T. method of determining your desired objectives. The first step is to set a specific goal that is present, positive and personal:

“I am a flexible, lean and fit Black Belt Champion. Everyday in everyway…I get better and better. I lead by example with the energy for excellence!”
Or
” I am going to Krav maga or mixed martial arts or kickboxing classes 2 times per week and not miss a week”

For some, this would be a “Truth in Advance” goal or statement.

For others, it is exactly what they are and the way they live their lives.
Very few goals are unrealistic, however, some people have unrealistic timelines. You aren’t likely to earn a college degree in six months and you won’t become a Black Belt Champion in that time either.

This is why you work to set S.M.A.R.T. goals for yourself and allow some flexibility in your target dates. Done properly, goal setting leads to goal getting and that is exciting and positive for everyone.

People with Goals succeed because they know where they are going!

Think Big – Achieve Big!

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Think Big – Achieve Big!

Think Big…Achieve Big…is all about seeing a Big Picture of what you want in life.

Big Goals bring out the best in us and make us aim for the stars.

Is it more exciting to aim  for Black Belt Excellence -or- Yellow Belt Mediocrity?

Do you want to be an A-rated student or be satisfied being a “D” student?

Would you rather be a millionaire -or- be poor for the rest of your life?

Which goal would motivate you to stay focused and take more action?

When you think big and strive to achieve big, it’s more exciting and you will take more action than when you think small and aim for easy targets that are set low.

Think Big…Achieve Big and make a Big Difference in the lives of others.

Training to become a Black Belt Champion is a big, exciting and purposeful goal no matter if it’s in Krav Maga , mixed martial arts , Thai boxing , Kali , kids Ju jitsu or any of the programs we train at Elite  training center. It’s one of those goals that has life long lasting benefits and causes people of all ages to transform their habits, attitudes and actions. It will change and improve their mental, physical and emotional well being.

Similar to any big achievement, it’s not what you get, it’s what you become.

In our Goal Setting for Greatness series, we encourage you to…

THINK BIG – ACHIEVE BIG.

Nobody suddenly became a World Class athlete.

Chances are pretty good they decided to become World Class and then they stayed FOCUSED and took Massive Action to achieve their goal. You can bet the same with anyone that has achieved success in business as well.

They set their sights on a BIG TARGET and then went after their dream.

As 2010 progresses, we hope you stay focused on your BIG TARGET.

Always Team Up and Never Give Up on making your Dreams come true…

THINK BIG – ACHIEVE BIG!
